oooh, yes please! How do you import images to be used as terrains in terragen 1?

Wow, you caught me!!! I didn't import images. But this is an option I'd like to practice, especially with clouds. I have thousand pics with clouds. I hope it's possible without RAW format, otherwise....

Does WorldMachine only work with terragen 2? I'd made a terrain and exported it in all sorts of files, none of which would work with terragen 1.

No, it works with Terragen v09 also. My Shire of the Forgottens' terrain is made with WM. When you clik on output, in WM, you have to do 3 things: 1-check file format=terr/2-give a name/3-write on disk. Then, in Terragen, on Terrain box, "Open" the one you made it in WM, that's all. The secret with Terragen is the use of 3D image option. Using that before rendering, you can travel on your terrain to find the perfect view-that's one of the best trick in Terragen v09. I don't like Terragen 2...

Got it =) Okay, so I did that, and there's no sky in my terragen image now ='(

You have to increase the altitude of the sky at 10000, and then watch clouds altitude. This one has to be higher than your highest landscape element-check it using colors (cols) in view/sculpt... dialog box. You have also to check the size of your terrain.
In some special situation, clouds' altitude can be lower, for special effects...Don't forget to use the 3D view option for "travelling" around your world...Use arrows and mouse...

okay, I was able to spot it was digital here ;) the ragged stone on the hill looks a bit too soft and the clouds a bit too flat but I'm very impressed by the water and the delicate reflection - you did a great job there (for all I know ;))
